Analysis according to Ec-3 of a 4,500 Tm Cement Storage Silo |

In this project, a structural analysis of a large
size cement storage silo (4,500 Tm) was carried out. The analysis
was performed in accordance with the actions established in the
Regulation EN-1991 (Eurocode 1) for tanks and silos.
The aforementioned Regulation was also followed so as to include
the effects of the wind, employing the detailed model for taking
into consideration dynamic wind effects, and building the necessary
tools to take into account the variation in effects at all points
on the silo. Tools were developed for the post-process and checking
of the structure that interact with the calculated database, thus
obtaining the stress states at each point on the bands comprising
the shell and performing detailed checking of the instability
at each point of the structure.. |
